Blogmas: Day 4
Journals are amazing, journals are the best thing ever! Don’t believe me? Well, prepare to be amazed. By the time you finish reading this, I am positive that you will definitely start writing journals.
Let me change your mind and welcome you to the journal writing cult. Here are the four reasons, out of a million, why everyone should be writing journals.
Personal Growth
Journaling is a perfect way to monitor your personal growth as you can take account of what you did that did not work. You can make your life strategies depending on what you should and should not do from past experiences.
Memory lane
You can store all your memories, word for word and revisit the beautiful occasions, whenever you want to. Reliving the wonderful days is something we all aspire for. Journaling makes sure that you do not miss any moment, no matter how big or small it is.
Calms mind
For me, journaling has been a source of calming my mind for as long as I can remember. Penning down thoughts help you to analyse your situation more smartly and it could be a way to calm those restless nerves. Anything in writing makes more sense than being in the already cluttered headspace.
Self belief
Journals have a beautiful way to inculcate the concept of self-belief. When you write down your thoughts and the things you believe in, your brain gets the signal that it is something important and should be followed no matter what. So, by journaling, you are training your brain to have more faith in the things you believe in. Which in other words mean believing in yourself.
So, don’t you think you should start writing journals? I think you do!

Maybe I should start writing a journal… But I don’t know how to start… It’s a feeling I have that if I do start I will end up being too lazy to keep going
I’m afraid I won’t find the time.
And even if I try to squeeze it into my day with a lot of hard work I may stop journaling eventually because it’s too much work.

How about … starting with actually writing your first journal? Don’t worry about the rest, just start! Make this writing journal a habit without forcing yourself, but to let yourself know why you need to write it. I do think it might actually work as the time goes by. Good luck! :))

I could not have said it better 🌸 thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts. Yes, journal writing is a bit tricky in the beginning and sometimes seem like a hassle, but it becomes a routine as you keep writing 🌸

Do you have any tips on how to continue writing in a journal and making it a habit? I’ve tried many times to start but I don’t know how to keep myself motivated to continue. Thanks!

My best tip would be to push yourself to keep writing everyday. Like, set an alarm for the first month *a time when you don’t have anything important planned* it would become a habit and you won’t even realise it. It doesn’t have to be perfect or anything, just your thoughts, without any pressure! Like a free form of writing. Good luck 🌸

I agree with everything you said! Journals are important, especially in terms of getting to know yourself through your written words and having something to look back on in the future.

Paper has more patient than people. If you can’t maintain a journal….then you could write in it whenever you felt without having any commitment you may end up liking it soo much that you will write in it regularly.
