On the third day of blogmas, I am going to share my three step approach towards the process of getting out of your head. This has always worked for me and I hope it helps you too.
Step 1: Five minutes of breathing exercise
Breathing exercises are your best friend when you are struggling to clear your mind. When you get so caught up that you have no idea how to move out, then start with this step. There are plenty of breathing exercises available on the internet, but if you still need some help, you can follow the 4-7-8 method
Inhale for 4 seconds
Hold your breath for 7 seconds
Exhale for 8 seconds
Step 2: Twenty jumping jacks
Don’t look at me like that! Cardiovascular exercises help your mental health. They increase the blood flow in your entire body and the blood carries oxygen along with it. It’s science. As the blood flow increases, you start getting hold of yourself.
Step 3: One cool glass of water
Yes, it is very important to stay hydrated. Sometimes, when you start thinking what’s wrong with you, think about when was the last time you drank water. Water is magic. So drink a glass of water, you will need it after those jumping jacks anyway.
This process should help you get out of that zone.
Hope you have a good mental health.
